mistertwister > IMG_9003: "Centennial Strike"
One of the best close range cloud-ground bolts I've ever captured, this photo shows the intricate & complex shapes and structures a split-second bolt can (and usually does) take. Strike was at/under a mile from my location (less than five seconds passed before the huge crack of thunder).
1 sec. exposure, ISO 800 using Canon 10-22mm wide angle lens.
mistertwister > IMG_9009: "Strike Two"
Less then one minute later, this bolt hit just south of the "Centennial Strike". The difference in this bolt's structure from the last one is downright amazing! Perhaps more interesting is the symmetry here: two nearly identical smaller leaders branch off the central return strike making the whole thing look like a mirror image of itself--top & bottom.

mistertwister > "Atmosphere Electrified"
So named since the bottom half of the picture is basically unending currents of electricity going in every direction.
mistertwister > "Jumping Jacks"
Yet another fun shot after the storm moved to the south. 30 sec. shutter, ISO 100, 70mm focal length.
